Ladies and gentlemen, we now know why Captain America and Iron Man are locking horns and getting ready for a fight in the hotly anticipated "Captain America: Civil War."

Chris Evans recently told a group of fans at an event that Tony Stark wanted the super heroes to report to someone and sign over their identities. However, it seems that the Captain does not agree with him in this move because he no longer trusts anyone.

"Given what happened in Cap 2, I think he kind of feels the safest hands are his own," Evans stated, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.

He did note however that from his own viewpoint, Iron Man himself might actually be right and that it might be crucial to surrender oneself to the collective to make it work.

"I do agree that to make this work, you do need to surrender to the group. It can't just be one person saying this is right and this is what we're going to do," he noted. "But Cap has his reasons, he certainly has his reasons, and he is a good man and his moral compass is probably the cleanest."

Evans did note that he thinks this ambiguity will add layers to the film and enrich it as an experience for the audience.

"There's no clear bad guy here. We both have a point of view, which is akin to most disagreements in life and politics," he noted.

This does not answer the question about whether there is in fact a superhero registration act in this film as was the case in the comics. However, it does follow along with previous rumors that instead of a specific piece of legislation there was a global attempt to get superheroes under control.

These questions will be answered when the Captain returns to the silver screen on May 6, 2016.
