Google is said to be hard at work on a large screen tablet that will rival Apple's recently unveiled 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

According to Android Police, the rumored Pixel C tablet will have a 10.2-inch touchscreen display with 30ppi pixel density and a super-bright backlight that extends to 500 nits.

Rumor has it the 10.2-inch Pixel C will be powered by NVIDIA's octa-core Tegra X1 SoC with a Maxwell GPU. The chipset scored close to 75,000 on the AnTuTu benchmark, Phone Arena reported.

The 10.2-inch Pixel C will also come with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and a USB Type-C connector while running on an undisclosed version of the Android operating system.

The tablet is expected to look a lot like Pixel laptops minus the detachable keyboards. Speaking of keyboards, the 10.2-inch Pixel C will supposedly have two keyboard variants, one will be made of aluminum while the other will sport a leather build. Additionally, the light bar on the back of the tablet lets users see how much battery life is remaining on the device.

Even though price listings of the 10.2-inch Pixel C haven't been reported yet, it's safe to conclude that the tablet won't come cheap. It will reportedly launch this November, just in time for the holiday season.

The 10.2-inch Pixel C could be shown off during Google's Sept. 29 press event in San Francisco, wherein the pair of next-gen Nexus smartphones will be introduced. Both smartphones of Android 6.0 Marshmallow have since been revealed to be the LG Nexus 5X and Huawei 6P.

According to a previous Latin Post report, the upcoming LG-manufactured Nexus will feature the following:

  • 5.2-inch 1080p touchscreen display
  • Snapdragon 808 chipset from Qualcomm
  • 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage.
  • 3 GB of RAM
  • 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage.
  • 12.3-megapixel rear camera and a five-megapixel selfie shooter
  • USB Type-C connector

As for the Huawei Nexus 6P, benchmark listing on the GeekBench database showed its prototype being powered by the Snapdragon 810 processor while having 3GB of RAM.

The Huawei-made Nexus will have a 5.5-inch QHD 2560 x 1440 touchscreen display, fingerprint sensor and a USB Type-C port. It will be fitted with a 21-megapixel rear camera, but information regarding its front-facing unit has not been revealed, per Android Headlines.

The LG Nexus 5X will reportedly start at $400, but price listings of the Huawei Nexus 6P's have yet to be reported. It can be assumed that the larger Nexus GP will cost more than the Nexus 5X.
