The truth is still out there, and "The X-Files" is back with a new trailer to prove it.

When the series left off in 2002, there was still much work to be done by the series stars Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson). Now, the series will be back to pick up where they left off over a decade ago, according to CNET.

"In 2002, my investigation ceased, but my personal obsession did not. Our work is key to everything. I can't do this alone," Mulder says at the beginning of the trailer.

Of course, he was right. The fandom of "The X-Files" has never wavered, and the popular series from Fox in the '90s still has enough mojo to put people's behinds in seats. That even applies to movie theater seats, given the series has also put out two movies as well, one post-mortem.

The trailer featured Mulder and Scully gearing up for action along with their former supervisor, Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi). Skinner had always been known to be the authority man that was always on their side, even when had his own neck on the line.

The series will not only bring back the top three, but they are also going to be featuring "The Smoking Man" and "The Lone Gunmen," the latter of which had their own short-lived spinoff on Fox as well.

But this series is neither a spinoff nor a reboot. It is simply a revival with the same characters picking up where they left off so many years ago, tackling the same issues with the common theme of searching for the truth about alien activity on the planet.
