The trailer for Season 2 of "Fargo" on FX is stacked full of dark comedy that is reminiscent of nearly all the works of Hollywood's most legendary filmmakers, the Coen brothers.

Suffice it say, Season 1 of the show took on the dark comedy of the original film. The theme present is Midwestern people who view the harshest of crimes, those of murder and robberies, with a smaller gain of salt. Although crimes like these are not normal, the hysterics don't really come out for the characters.

"There's a shoe in that tree. I suppose we ought to get that down," Ted Danson's character said in one of the trailer's relaxed moments accompanied by the grisly nature of events around them.

Season 2 steps back into the past, to 1979, and shows audiences what took place with the Sioux Falls, South Dakota incident that was referenced in Season 1. Essentially, the season is a prequel and contains characters from the past.

Kirsten Dunst ("Spiderman"), Jesse Plemons, Ted Danson ("Cheers"), Patrick Wilson ("The Conjuring"), Nick Offerman, Jeffrey Donovan ("Burn Notice") and Jean Smart are all headlining the cast for Season 2, and if the trailer is any indication, they are poised to pull off some of the wittiest character-driven dialogue on television.

The Huffington Post reports the show has received loads of critical acclaim and awards for the first season. But the second season of actors really did not know much about it.

Donovan spoke at the TCA event last month about the show.

"I did not know who [executive producer] Noah [Hawley] was," Donovan said. "All I heard was the acclaim about it. But then I finally sat down and watched it and, like everyone, I was blown away."

Season 2 is set to premiere on cable network FX on Oct. 12. You can watch the trailer for the season below.
