'Real Housewives of New Jersey,' Teresa Giudice News: Pope Francis' US Visit Brings Jailed Reality Star to Tears
Jailed "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice was recently moved to tears by Pope Francis' visit here to the U.S.
"Watching the Pope Francis coverage on TV and I am crying," Giudice tweeted, adding "What a wonderful man, such a kind and gentle soul."
The 43-year-old Giudice attached the hashtag "ProudCatholic" to the post. The reality TV star remains in custody at the Danbury Correctional facility, serving out the terms of her 15-month sentence on bank fraud-related charges.
According to People magazine, throughout her incarceration, Giudice has managed to tweet several messages, admitting that the experience has been difficult for her, and saluting her family and friends for remaining supportive.
Later this month, Giudice is slated to star in her family's spin off from the Bravo network's original reality show. "The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In" is slated to be a three-part series focusing on husband Joe's struggles to keep his family of four young daughters together while his wife is away.
Teresa will be featured in the series through jailhouse phone calls with family members. She has also already signed to rejoin the cast of "RHONJ" once she is released from prison sometime around Christmas.
Reports are she is slated to earn a salary as high as $2 million for the season, and executives from the show have been slow to begin filming in hopes of being able to feature her in as many scenes as possible.
Once she is released from custody, Joe is slated to start serving out his 41-month sentence on similar charges. Rumors are he could face the possibility of deportation back to his native Italy after he has served his sentence.
"The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In" premieres Oct. 11, 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
