'Star Wars Episode 7' Rumors, Cast & Spoilers: Will Emperor Palpatine Show Up in New Trilogy?
With less than three months until the release of "Star Wars Episode VII," more rumors have surfaced.
According to the new book "Star Wars: Aftermath," it seems the Emperor Palpatine may still be alive.
After listening to the audio book version, Lilpank spotted some rather unusual hints that the emperor was still alive. According to Lilpanik, the audio version of Aftermath includes a conversation in which Imperial Admiral Sloane mentions that she's not actually the one in charge of a particular Super Star Destroyer.
In the book she suggests that it's someone she believed to be dead. During that sequence the audio book switched to Emperor Palpatine's iconic theme, which was heard in every instance the Emperor appeared in the films.
The hints continue towards the end of the book as Admiral Sloane speaks to the mystery man in question. That sounds very similar to the way the emperor was spoken to during the movies until he revealed himself in "Episodes III" and "VI."
While it has not been confirmed, the way that Disney has been billing these next films anything is possible. "The Force Awakens" is supposed to connect to the events of the first trilogy and it is undeniable especially since Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke are all in the next film. Additionally C-3PO and R2-D2 are also in the movie along with Chewbacca.
Additionally the rumors could be true because the novel is being billed as part of the "Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens." If this is true then expect Disney to revive the Emperor and bring back other memorable characters.
The plot to "The Force Awakens" is still not unknown and details have not been revealed. The film is slated to star Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. The movie is set to hit theaters on Dec. 18.
