LG V10 vs. Apple iPhone 6s Plus: Phablet Could Compete With iPhone 6s Plus
LG is putting out a large-screened smartphone that could compete directly with the new Apple iPhone 6s Plus. The LG V10 will have several unique features that the iPhone 6s Plus does not have.
LG showed off its upcoming V10 on Thursday. The most interesting feature that this smartphone has is the extra micro-sized screen at the top of main screen that will display popular apps, weather information, frequently used contacts and much more, according to CNET.
LG believes its phablet, the term used for phones that share qualities of both smartphones and tablets, will be superior to Apple's iPhone 6s or Samsung's Galaxy Note 5. Phablets became popular with Samsung's Galaxy Note and Apple eventually built the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus to appease customers that prefer a bigger screen. The LG V10 will feature a large 5.7-inch screen.
The V10 will feature two front-facing cameras. One of the cameras will be for individual self-portraits and the other will be used for group portraits.
The camera features in the LG V10 will also allow users to take short videos throughout the day and have the device create a longer video for them. Another feature will snip down their videos to 15-second highlight videos. Sharing videos and pictures will be simple with social buttons that automatically appear along with these types of media.
The extra mini-screen at the top the device can be customized to the user's liking. They can make the camera easily accessible or keep their favorite contacts for easy access. This second screen will always be on, even when the phone is in sleep mode.
The pictures of the V10 show off a thin device with a large screen, a stainless steel frame and fingerprint sensor. This is the first time that LG has gone away from a plastic body in favor of metal.
LG decided to give this new smartphone a new series name, using the V series instead of the G series which has been used on previous devices like the LG G4 and G Flex 2. They wanted to use a high number like 10 to distinguish it as a unique and new product not to be confused by others.
