EPL Week 8 Schedule, Fixtures, Table & Stream: Manchester United To Face Arsenal, Manchester City Looking to End Slump
Manchester United will look to stay on top of the English Premier League standings, but Arsenal and Manchester City are also eyeing to spoil the Red Devil's bid in Week 8 of the 2015-16 season.
Manchester United vs. Arsenal
Manchester United will try to keep the top spot in the standings when they collide with Arsenal on Sunday at Emirates Stadium.
Manchester United moved up on top of the pack after scoring an impressive 3-0 victory against Sunderland in Week 7, which was also their third consecutive league victory.
On the other hand, Arsenal are also oozing with confidence heading into the game after running away with a 5-2 victory against Leicester City last week. The win was bitter sweet, though, because they lost center-back Laurent Koscielny, who will sit out for three weeks because of a hamstring injury.
Arsenal could get a share of the top spot if they win on Sunday and if Manchester City and West Ham United fail to get three points from their assignments this week. However, the Red Devils have psychological advantage because Arsenal have only won once in their last 13 Premier League showdowns, ESPN FC reported.
Manchester City vs. Newcastle United
Meanwhile, Manchester City will look to get back on track when they host Newcastle United at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Manchester City lost their grip on the top spot in the standings after losing in their last two matches - 2-1 against West Ham and 4-1 against Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester City are currently second in the standings with 15 points and are just one point behind Manchester United. A win against Newcastle United coupled by a draw or defeat for Manchester United will help them regain the No. 1 spot in the standings.
