'The Voice' Season 9 Spoilers: Country Rock Duo Gets Engaged During Blind Auditions
No matter how Season 9 of "The Voice" plays out, the country rock duo of Jubal Lee Young and Amanda Preslar have already set themselves up to be this season's real winners.
Musical aspirations and lyrical pursuits aside, and with all due respect to Pharrell Williams, whom the couple selected as their coach over Gwen Stefani during the third night of blind auditions, the couple set themselves up for a lifetime of high-notes during the show's most recent airing.
The couple has been together for roughly two years and were clearly in sync with one another from the opening note of their rendition of The Eagles' "Seven Bridges Road." International Business Times reports Judge Blake Shelton asked if they were married.
"Not yet," responded Preslar, prompting Young to take to one knee and pop the question on the spot.
Within moments, and following a response in the affirmative from Preslar, Young was slipping the ring on her finger and the two were joyfully off to prepare for a life and the upcoming Battle Rounds together.
And some point, the two can almost assuredly expect to come face to face with "Diamonds" crooner Rihanna, who has signed on this season to be an adviser to all four judges.
According to E! News, Stefani, Williams, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will all have the "Umbrella" singer at their disposal in shaping their recruits this season.
"We landed Rihanna to be the key adviser to all the coaches this fall," NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said. "This is one of music's true supervisors coming on board to influence the lives and careers of the performers."
Levine and Shelton have been with the show since its launch in 2011, while this will be Williams' third season, after he joined the show with Stefani in Season 7.
