A new trailer for Season 2 of "Jane The Virgin" teases that Jane Villanueva will be torn between her long-term boyfriend and the father of her child when the comedy series returns to the CW on Oct. 12.

As fans may recall, Jane finally gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Mateo in the Season 1 finale. However, her newborn was suddenly kidnapped by Sin Rostro. Meanwhile, Petra (Yael Grobglas) took Rafael's (Justin Baldoni) swimmers home from the fertility clinic. Plus, Jane's parents, Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio (Jaime Camil), admitted that they got drunk and decided to elope in Las Vegas.

A sneak peek video of the upcoming season reveals that fans can expect to see Jane face more drama in her family and love life. One clip from the video shows that Jane will be forced to choose between Michael, who is safe and dependable, or Rafael, who is exciting and dangerous.

"The truth is, I'm in love with ..." she says before the teaser trails off.

The trailer also shows Xo confessing to Alba and Jane that she eloped with Jane's father, Rogelio. In response, her mother and daughter burst out in laughter after hearing the unbelievable news.

Executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman also revealed that "Magic Mike" actor Adam Rodriguez will guest star in a recurring arc as Jane's writing professor, Jonathan, reports Entertainment Weekly.

According to CarterMatt, the synopsis for the new season reads as follows:

"After Jane (Gina Rodriguez) discovers Mateo's abduction, chaos ensues, especially when they all learn Sin Rostro is involved and demanding a ransom. Trying to help, Rogelio (Jaime Camil) tweets about Mateo's kidnapping making the Villanueva family targets of the paparazzi. Despite everything that has happened, Jane must also focus on motherhood and turns to Xo (Andrea Navedo) and Alba (Ivonne Coll) for help, leaving Rafael (Justin Baldoni) feeling left out. Meanwhile, Petra (Yael Grobglas) is conflicted with what to do with Rafael's remaining sperm sample."

Season 2 of "Jane the Virgin" will premiere on Monday, Oct. 12 EDT on The CW.
