In effort to reach millennials, Telemundo announced that it is partnering with NBC News to produce coverage of the U.S. presidential election through a new digital multi-platform forum under a signature banner called #YODECIDO (I decide).

The Spanish-language television network's digital platform will give younger viewers the option to follow the 2016 race through its social TV features and the first Hispanic news app for Apple Watch. The multiplatform coverage will be conducted under #YODECIDO, which seeks to inform and empower Hispanic voters through an unprecedented 275 hours of political coverage.

Emmy Award winner "Noticiero Telemundo" anchors María Celeste Arrarás and José Díaz-Balart are set to lead #YODECIDO's coverage, while over 10 correspondents have signed on to document the presidential race.

"The Latino vote will decide the future president of this country and therefore we have a tremendous responsibility with our audience", said Luis Carlos Vélez, Executive VP of network news for Telemundo, in a press release sent to Latin Post.

"Our response is #YODECIDO, the largest multiplatform news coverage effort in the history of Telemundo. We understand Hispanics have multiple points of view and concerns, and we want to celebrate that diversity and focus on providing the facts and covering all sides of the issues, not just one point of view".

The primary focus of #YODECIDO and interactive digital platforms at Telemundo.com and the Telemundo News digital properties across social media networks like Facebook, Twitter and Periscope will be to target 18 to 34 year olds. According to the press release, 50,000 Hispanics turn 18 and become eligible to vote each month. Telemundo also developed a WhatsApp channel to keep Hispanics informed throughout the electoral cycle.

Furthermore, the network will launch a brand-new Telemundo News App, which offers live-stream coverage of news on a daily basis along with push notifications of breaking news.
