Google announced that its fix for the Nexus 5 camera/CPU bug is finally on its way. Nexus 5 owners are having a constant problem, especially when using the camera. The CPU maxes out and it usually results in battery drain. According to Google, they have already isolated the reason behind this problem and will provide an immediate solution soon.

The bug causing the problem is called "mm-qcamera-daemon." This is what causes battery consumption to happen faster. The issue is related to the handling of camera data, meaning that third party apps might be the reason for the problem. For instance, Skype constantly accesses the camera from the background, which will eventually trigger the bug.

According to Google, the bug fix will be made available upon the release of the Android 4.4.3 version. For now, the best way forward is to reboot the device and remove Skype and Tango. Other than the Nexus devices, other devices using KitKat might also be affected since the problem can be caused by a third party app. For those users, the best possible fix for the problem would have to be through the manufacturer, since the problem would have to be addressed separately and the manufacturer could provide the best solution. 

Until now, there is no word in regards to Google's delivery of its patch. The issue seems to affect a few isolated devices only. If you do not experience this problem unlike other Nexus 5 users, there is a way for you to check if the bug is present or not. All you have to do is to go to Settings and then click Battery. Find out if the "mm-qcamera-daemon" consumes a huge portion of the battery percentage. If so, you can reboot it as a temporary solution. Google promises to deliver the fix as soon as possible to avoid further problems caused by the bug.
