Microsoft is confident that they can win back former Xbox 360 owners with their Xbox One backward compatibility feature.

According to Attack of the Fan Boy, owners of Xbox 360 were dismayed when the announcement of a new console, the Xbox One, came too early. Apparently, the Xbox One arrived even before owners enjoyed the console's older version, the Xbox 360. This time, Microsoft believes that by slowly integrating games from Xbox 360 to the Xbox One, fans will consider buying themselves the newer version.

In a statement by Anshu Mor of Xbox One India, via a report from Gaming Bolt, he implied that a global call to integrate the Xbox 360 games to Xbox One will bring players to the current Xbox version. He further said that they have talked to several consumers who currently own the Xbox 360, and every one of them requested the backward compatibility feature so that they could keep their Xbox 360 investment and play their favorite games.

Microsoft has also taken into consideration the fact that there are many people expected to buy new gaming consoles this season, and their target is to make sure that they can attract them to purchase the Xbox One using the backward compatibility feature.

Currently, PlayStation 4, Xbox One's rival, doesn't have the said feature. However, PlayStation is instead giving away monthly free games to its fans. Xbox One's sales stats remain to be seen after the feature is fully implemented.

This November, there will be over 100 games from the Xbox 360 that will be made playable in the current Xbox One. Using this as a secret weapon to attract gamers, Microsoft hopes to have more consumers transferring to their side and supporting the sales of Xbox One.

Meanwhile, Xbox's Phil Spencer is addressing issues about the glitch on Xbox Live, where users encountered network problems while signing in.

In a report from Express, Spencer said, "We have to earn the trust each day, and I know service disruption hurts that trust. We are on the issue, apologies. We know the issue and what the fix is, shouldn't be too long."

He also added that it's high time for the company to address issues regarding the complete shutdown of consoles whenever these network problems strike. "I look at all of us together as this is our collective opportunity to share what we can about what we're learning and how things are growing," he said.
