"The Blacklist" Season 3 Episode 2 Spoilers: Liz Seeks Asylum in Russia
The upcoming episode of “The Blacklist” will have FBI agent turned fugitive Liz Keen (Megan Boone) seeking asylum in Russia.
In Episode 2 of Season 3, titled "Marvin Gerard," Liz has no one left to trust but Red (James Spader). Luckily for Liz, the guy is good under pressure.
After Liz escapes to the Russian Embassy for safety, Red enlists a lawyer named Marvin Gerard to help get them out of the sticky situation. As all of this is happening, the FBI tries to force Cooper (Harry Lennix) to leave the task force.
A teaser for the episode shows Red cautioning Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) about the immediate danger Liz faces as she tries to leave for Russia, saying, “The second she gets on that plane…”
“She’s dead,” says Ressler, finishing Red’s bleak sentence.
In the exciting season premiere last week, Liz and Red took shelter in an underground bunker beneath a bar. They then stole a car and hid away in some rich dude’s apartment long enough for Liz to dye her hair and send Red down memory lane. It is safe to say that Season 3 of “The Blacklist” is all about surviving the storm.
Spader, who many viewers came to both love and loathe in the 1986 romantic teen comedy “Pretty in Pink,” is an actor who seems happiest portraying men who are comfortable when their worlds are threatened.
Speaking with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford on NBC’s “Today,” the 55-year-old star talked about his character’s current state.
“Life is changing drastically… which he is comfortable with. He is perfectly comfortable with chaos,” Spader said. “Season 3 kicks off very chaotically.”
Offering the secret to Red’s success, Spader glibly said, “He only kills bad guys and he’s very nice to house keepers.”
The next episode of “The Blacklist” airs on Oct. 8 on NBC.
