Selena Gomez Releases New Song, Tour Dates Announced
On Oct. 2, Selena Gomez released another single off of her upcoming highly anticipated album "Revival" and also announced the dates for her 2016 Revival World Tour.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the song, called "Me & The Rhythm," is mature lyrically but still reminiscent of the dance club tunes Gomez's fan are used to.
Gomez announced on Twitter if fans preorder "Revival" from iTunes, they would instantly get the new song.
Following the song's release, the pop star revealed on her Instagram account, on Oct. 1, that she would be touring in the United States and Canada.
She shared a video on Instagram and captioned it with, "The rumors are true... #REVIVALTour coming 2016!" The dates for her tour were released on Oct. 5 on the star's official website.
Some of the cities included are Las Vegas, Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Orlando, Toronto and Montreal.
Gomez's mature lyrics on the new song are no surprise. The star has taken on a more adult-like sound with her new music. The album's first single, "Good For You," made headlines for its sultry and seductive nature, as did the music video for the song.
When Gomez revealed the cover artwork for "Revival," which she posed naked for, many fans were surprised but overall supportive.
The 23-year-old has spoken out about her more mature image, which she attributes to her new confidence, reported Yahoo.
"I'm very comfortable in my skin. I'm so proud of everything that I've done. And I'm a lot kinder to myself than I used to be," she said.
"So if anything I just want that to translate. You know, my music is confident. My album artwork is so well done and I just think its beautiful ... I love being able to kind of have my own ways of doing things."
"Me & The Rhythm" is the third single off of Gomez's upcoming album, "Revival," which will be released on Oct. 9.
