Clay Matthews to Colin Kaepernick: 'You Ain't Russell Wilson, Bro' [Watch]
During the FOX broadcast of Sunday's game between the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49s, TV cameras picked up sound of Packers linebacker Clay Matthews, as he shouted down 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
According to Bleacher Report, during the fourth quarter of the Packers' 17-3 win, Matthews shouted at Kaepernick, "You Ain't Russell Wilson, Bro."
The comment came after Matthews sacked Kaepernick in the third quarter and openly mocked the quarterback's trademark bicep-kissing celebration.
When asked about the incident, Matthews said that it was all in good fun.
"Nah, it's not planned," Matthews said. "I was going to hit him with the predator, and then I had a light bulb go off in my head. It's just having fun. We're a bunch of kids out there running around and having fun at each other's expense."
It was an ugly game for Kaepernick. He finished 15 of 25 for 160 yards and had an interception. He rushed for 57 yards on 10 carries.
Matthews wasn't the only one that wreaked havoc against Kaepernick. The entire Packers defense seemed to have his number all game long.
According to Comcast Sportsnet, a frustrated Kaepernick gave his thoughts about the loss, wondering aloud if he was on the same page as his wide receivers.
"Some of them were protecting throws," Kaepernick said. "I'm just not going to throw the ball into coverage. I'm going to protect the throws as much as I can to make sure we're protecting the football as an offense."
After leading the San Francisco 49ers to consecutive NFC championship games and one Super Bowl, Kaepernick was rewarded with a seven-year, $126 million contract extension before last season. So far, he has not lived up to his contract, and many fans are wondering if the extension was a mistake.
With the 49ers record currently at 1-3, it is safe to say that a quarterback change may be looming in the near future.
