"What happens now?" is perhaps the best question that fits the season 2 finale of "The Strain" as it ended with more deaths than hope for humanity's survival. While Setrakian (David Bradley) continues with his quest to kill The Master, Eph (Corey Stoll) on the other hand is left lost and defeated after the loss of loved ones.

Episode 13 in Season 2 of "The Strain" titled, "Night Train," started with Eichorst visiting a construction factory. He strolls through the lines of cages and hooks with a pleasing smile on his face. When asked what the cages are for, he merely replies for the "sheep," although it's actually what Collider called as his "massive human processing plant."

Meanwhile, Eph, Nora and Zach prepare to leave New York for Georgia. They say their goodbyes to Setrakian and Fet, and head to the train station to catch the last night train out of the city. While they wait for the train to arrive, Eph and Nora talks about their future and plans to start a new life in Georgia. Unknowingly, they don't see Kelly hiding from behind a pillar watching her son Zach longingly.

Inside the train, Eph leaves to go to the concessionaire to get some food after it was announced that the train was safe to leave. However, the vehicle comes to a dangerous stop after hordes of strigois blocked its path. Nora and Zach are forced to leave without Eph.

Back at Palmer's office, Coco convinces Palmer not to be defeated by Eichorst. Palmer decides to surprise Eichorst by withdrawing all his funds from his Swiss account just in time when he was bidding over the Lumen with Setrakian.

Setrakian and Fet leave with the book but unfortunately Eichorst and his strigois attacked them while on the road. Fortunately, Quinlan and his men arrived in time to help and Eichorst comes face-to-face with Quinlan but he manages to escape.

As Setrakian and Fet attempt to leave the island, Quinlan tries to stop them. However, after Setrakian tells Quinlan about the Ancients' plan to destroy the Lumen for good, Quinlan decides to side with Setrakian and together they board a ferry back to New York.

Meanwhile, an angry Eichorst returns to Palmer's office and tells him that The Master is not happy with his treachery. The Master arrives and kills Coco.

Back at the railway station, Nora battles it out with Kelly. As she is about to cut off Kelly's head, Zach yells at her to stop. Kelly immediately stings Nora. A terrified Zach finally cries into his mother's arms and walks away with her. Eph arrives just in time to see Nora alive before she electrocutes herself to death.

The Season 2 finale of "The Strain" ended Palmer and Eph feeling defeated with the loss of their loved ones. Meanwhile Setrakian is finally filled with hope that finally he can kill The Master.
