‘Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ News: The Legend of Zelda Symphony to Perform
Stephen Colbert is set to feature the music of The Legend of Zelda on his late night show next week.
The late night host will welcome The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses, Nintendo's touring concert series, as the musical guest on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Tuesday, Oct. 13, according to Yahoo! News.
Actor Elijah Wood, known for his role as Frodo Baggins in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, will also be making a guest appearance on the show. He has also offered up his talents in the past as a video game voice actor. Comedian Sarah Silverman will appear on Tuesday's episode of the show as well.
This will mark the third time video games have been represented on the program. Last week Colbert interviewed YouTube sensation PewDiePie and No Man's Sky developer Sean Murray on Friday.
During Murray's visit, Colbert asked if he could reveal the release date for the highly anticipated new video game No Man's Sky, but Murray responded, "It's still a secret."
The science fiction space game is an attempt at creating an entire universe procedurally generated by the computer, Murray said.
"I thought Morgan Freeman was God," Colbert said to Murray. "You're actually my second God."
During the interview Murray gave Colbert and the audience a preview of the game. As they visited one particular solar system in the game, Murray demonstrated how players can name new elements or creatures they discover.
Murray allowed Colbert to put his name on five creatures: the "Colbison," "Molebert," "Stephenus Rex," "Codbert" and "Colbertasaurus." By the end of the demonstration, Colbert also became the owner of one of the many planets in the game, naming it "Colbert Prime" and an entire solar system, which he named "The Colbert System."
The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses is currently touring the U.S. and Europe with dates through 2016.
