When Season 2 of "Finding Carter" returns Lori Stevens is sure to cause more drama, as seen in a recently released clip.

When fans last saw Lori (Milena Govich) she was on trial for her kidnapping of Carter (Kathryn Prescott) not once but twice. Her fate seemed predictable, but according to a new clip from MTV, things definitely went in Lori's favor.

Viewers and Carter were hit with a curve ball during the midseason finale when Ben Wallace (Ben Winchell) revealed himself to be Lori and David's (Alexis Denisof) secret child and therefore Carter's brother.

Not only is the shock of Ben's identity causing major drama, but so is the release of Lori from custody after being found not guilty of her crimes against Carter and the Wilson family.

In the exclusive clip Carter witnesses the moment her biological mother exits the courtroom to a crowd of reporters awaiting the verdict to find out that Lori was found not guilty.

"The defendant, Lori Stevens, has been found not guilty on federal kidnapping charges," a journalist says in the clip. "[She] has been released after time served."

The shocking verdict itself will surely cause a lot of drama when the second half of Season 2 returns, but that's not all the clip reveals.

"I'm just grateful to have my freedom and to know that my son is alive and well," Lori says in the clip. She then adds that she is grateful that "the judge saw it fit to award me custody," which has many questioning whether that means Lori has custody of Carter.

Besides drama with her biological mother, Carter will also have to deal with her brother Ben and his mischievous behavior, a new job and a new and much older love interest, played by Jackson Rathbone.

"Finding Carter" premieres on Tuesday Oct. 6 at 10/9c on MTV.
