‘No Men Beyond This Point’ Sci-Fi Comedy Film About Women Reproducing by Themselves [Watch]
The alpha male's worst nightmare just landed on the big screen with the film "No Men Beyond This Point." The film is a comedic drama that sees the extinction on man and the rise of women.
According to Deadline, the film made its debut at the Toronto Film Festival's Vanguard section this year and has been picked up for worldwide distribution by Samuel Goldwyn Films with the only exception being in Canada.
Apparently, the film envisions an alternative history world where women no longer need men to keep the human population afloat. The world's women have become asexual, which means they can reproduce children without the assistance of a man. This of course leads to the comedy of the film, which puts men's imminent demise in danger of becoming irrelevant.
To top things off, women no longer reproduce male babies, so the world is going completely feminine and there are very few men left in the world that are young enough to take a stand.
The youngest man in the world just so happens to be a 37-year-old housekeeper for a family of women named Andrew Myers. The film itself actually follows the young man through his daily struggles who inadvertently becomes the sole voice for a distinctly endangered group of men who want to avoid the extinction of man.
It is unclear who the group is battling, considering women are unable to produce male babies and there is no way they can stop the extinction of man. But they do seem to be at peace with the dissolution of men, making no efforts to avoid their looming demise.
"[Director] Mark [Sawers] has a truly original voice and made a film that is both smart and funny -- and is also an incredibly interesting take on gender politics," Peter Goldwyn of Samuel Goldwyn Films said. "I'm excited to have the opportunity to release it and imagine we will have a lot of fun on this campaign."
The film stars Patrick Gilmore, Kristine Cofsky, Tara Pratt, Cameron McDonald, Rekha Sharma, Ken Kramer, Morgan Taylor Campbell and Mary Black.
Although there has been no specific release date announced yet, it is expected to come out sometime in 2016.
