Microsoft recently held an event that introduced their Windows 10 devices. They also took the opportunity to reveal their most affordable Windows 10 smartphone device to date.

According to TechTimes, Microsoft introduced the Lumia 550 and dubbed it as their most affordable 4G LTE smartphone yet. The Lumia 550 has a price tag of $139 and is already loaded with the new Windows 10 update.

It is also fully equipped with a Snapdragon quad-core processor from Qualcomm. The Lumia 550 has apparently set the balance for consumers who can't afford to buy the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL that were also introduced during the event.

According to the Microsoft News Center, the Lumia 550 will start to take on the European market by December.

Some of Lumia 550's notable features include the new Windows 10 that lets consumers experience the full capacity of Microsoft's services. In terms of productivity, Microsoft Office apps and the One Drive Cloud storage will take care of files and other data.

The Cortana, which is dubbed as a digital personal assistant, will also help maximize the users' experience in utilizing other apps in the phone. Lastly, the 4G LTE internet service lets you surf the web faster and more efficient.

The physical specification made available for the Lumia 550 includes a dimension of 136.1 x 67.8 x 9.9 mm and has a weight of 141.9 grams. It also features a polycarbonate casing and will come in two color variants mainly black and white.

The only physical buttons notable are for power and volume. It has an 8GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 200GB. It also features a 4.7-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 120 (315 ppi).

The camera will feature a two-megapixel secondary camera and a five-megapixel primary shooter with accelerometer, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor.

The Lumia 550 will have a 2,100 mAH battery with a standby duration of 28 days, 2G talk of up to 15.9 hours and a 3G talk of up to 13.9 hours.

For the memory of the device, the Lumia 550 will carry a micro-USB port instead of what the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL have, which is the USB Type-C.

The Lumia 550 does not stray far from those previous Lumia designs, but what actually makes it stand out, especially for the affordable price, is its Windows 10 feature.

The event also introduced Microsoft's Surface Pro that will go agains't Apple's Macbook Air.
