WWE: Triple H, Vince McMahon Plotting Big Storyline To Boost Dwindling TV Ratings
The WWE has some problems getting viewers to tune in to the longest-running television show in the U.S. as low ratings are coming in the last few weeks, as reported by Inquisitr. While the ratings for WWE RAW are still fluctuating, the company usually experience a drop in viewers during the fall season with shows like "The Voice" and "Dancing with the Stars" on again.
But during Mondays, Monday Night Football tops the rating scores, which has been a problem for the WWE for years. The company has never experienced a stability of low ratings, which might mean that the product itself is not connecting to the viewers.
Daily Wrestling News reports that the WWE management is desperate to have better ratings. WWE chairman Vince McMahon and Paul "Triple H" Levesque are reportedly making big changes in the cards. McMahon, in particular, is reportedly micro-managing the creative team as well as all backstage aspects more than usual. With John Cena taking a time-off after Hell in a Cell, here are two of the possible big storylines that could help with the ratings for Monday Night Raw.
Taking the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Away from Seth Rollins
According to Daily Wrestling News, there is backstage talk that some people are blaming current WWE champ Seth Rollins for the ratings' fluctuation. Some feel that he has been overexposed; his promos have become stale and are not working anymore. However, the management is fully supportive of him and views him as one of the future players of the company.
Back in August, Bleacher Report noted that the WWE has been planting the seeds of a possible Rollins face turn, which would lead to a feud with Triple H in the future. With the WWE champ currently in a feud with a member of The Authority, it could possibly end fans cheering for Seth Rollins.
A Return by Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan
As previously reported by Latin Post, Daniel Bryan is waiting for a clearance from a third neurologist to wrestle again. There is no doubt that Bryan is one of the most famous superstars in the WWE as his "YES" chants have gained mainstream popularity, per USA Today.
Inquisitr adds that Bryan recently had a meeting with Vince McMahon and Triple H, but no details were given. His surprise return would be a welcome sight for a lot of fans. His journey to regain the WWE title he never lost is a story people would watch all the time.
