Pop singer Demi Lovato surprised fans on Wednesday by releasing a new song from her upcoming album "Confident."

The 23-year-old singer shared a link to the new song on Twitter. "Stone Cold live from the studio. Hope you guys like!!!" tweeted the star.

In the impressive ballad, the singer describes the feeling of watching an ex-boyfriend fall in love with someone else. Besides the very emotional theme of the song, the Lovato reveals a very mature vocal range, in addition to raw talent.

When asked in her October interview with Complex which was her favorite song off of her new album, Lovato said "Stone Cold," calling the ballad an "extremely soulful, almost Motown type of song."

The "Cool for the Summer" singer also revealed that she believed if she were to win a Grammy, it would be for that song.

"I want the Grammy committee to hear [that song] so that one day they can see that -- I know that I'm capable of getting there," Lovato said. "I just want people to see it finally. When I say getting there, I don't mean winning one. I just want to be nominated for one. You can't go higher than the Grammys in the music industry. That was a huge goal for this album."

A new song is not the only surprise Lovatics -- as her fan base is called -- will get this week. Lovato has also been promoting the upcoming music video for her second single off of "Confident."

The singer confirmed on Instagram that the music video will premiere on Friday, and she even gave fans a sneak peak.

On Sept. 24, the singer also shared some details about the filming of the "Confident" video on Instagram.

The star revealed that the video would involve two of Hollywood's most famous Latinos. "Furious 7" star Michelle Rodriguez will be starring in the video along with Lovato, and Robert Rodriguez served as the video's director.
