HTC has already released one flagship smartphone this year and another one could be coming. The HTC One A9 is expected as early as Oct. 20.

The HTC One M9 was the advanced flagship released by HTC in 2015. The HTC One A9 will not be the advanced smartphone that will update the One M9, instead it will be a mid-level smartphone that is inspired by the iPhone, Tech Radar reports.

The new phone coming from HTC is being referred to as the One A9 on internal documents, but the name HTC Aero has also appeared in the past. The new phone from HTC could have a Quad-HD screen and an advanced camera, but it is more likely to have average specifications and features.

The release date for the HTC One A9 is probably coming soon because HTC sent out invitations for an online event on Oct. 20. At the event, HTC confirms it will be announcing a new phone but does not confirm it will be the One A9.

Looking at leaked photos of the HTC One A9, it looks very similar to the iPhone 6s. The bezels on the HTC One A9 will be large on top and bottom and very limited on the sides. The edges will be metal. The back of the One A9 looks just like the iPhone 6s with a metallic back in six different colors and an antenna line near the top of the device, just like the iPhone 6s. On the front of the device, there is a power button below the screen that could also act as a fingerprint sensor.

The screen on the One A9 will likely be a Full HD AMOLED display and be 5 inches. Another rumor points to it being a Quad-HD display, but that would bring up the cost. Sources point to Gorilla Glass 4 protecting the display. The screen will also have slight curves on the edges, similar to the iPhone 6.

The camera on the One A9 might only be 13 megapixels (MP), but it will have a wide aperture lens at f/1.9. The wide aperture lens will provide improved pictures in low light situations.

The One A9 will likely be powered by a slower processor, the Snapdragon 617 or Snapdragon 620. It should have 3 GB of RAM to help it run apps, but it could have as little as 2 GB of RAM. The storage in the One A9 will either be 16 GB or 32 GB. 

The new One A9 will come pre-installed with Android Marshmallow.
