Gina Rodriguez admits she was blown away by the chance to work with Britney Spears on the second season of the Golden Globe Award-winning show "Jane the Virgin."

"Incredible. Incredible woman, super sweet, super kind," Rodriguez told the HuffPost Live about her experiences of working with the 33-year-old superstar on the comedy series. "She loves the show, that's how (it) actually ended up happening."

And word is, Spears more than held her own. At least that's Rodriguez's story, who admits growing up as a teen wishing she was the "Oops, I Did It Again" crooner.

"She definitely got comedy chops like nobody's business, and to go head-to-head with Jamie [Camil] is like, the ultimate challenge for a comedic actress because he's so incredible," Rodriguez said. "She held her own and more. She was very, very good."

As for the specifics about Spears' "Jane the Virgin" role, Rodriguez wouldn't offer many details, other than gushing about how she got to dance with one of her idols and now feels she's an overall better person because of it.

"There's a lot of my childhood that was complete yesterday," she said.

When it comes to the show's second season overall, Rodriguez hints she's looking for even bigger and better things.

"I luckily got to see some of the next season, and I think fans are going to be very proud," she said. "They're gonna be very happy."

"Jane the Virgin" officially returns for its Season 2 premiere on Monday, Oct. 12, at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.

Spears, meanwhile, remains busy with her Las Vegas "Piece of Me," residency tour, which is slated to run through the New Year. Her "Pretty Girl" collaboration with Iggy Azalea recently climbed to No. 1 on the iTunes Pop Chart.
