The third beta of OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 has referenced a trio of upcoming Apple hardware updates. These are the Magic Trackpad 2, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Mouse 2.

French tech site Consomac was the first to uncover the references found on a few configuration files within the beta's Bluetooth settings. The Magic Trackpad 2 is particularly striking since it wasn't included in the Federal Communications Commission filings that emerged two months ago.

According to Apple Insider, the leaked FCC documents did reveal that a new Apple wireless keyboard and a next-gen Magic Mouse will be coming soon. Both devices were said to have support for Bluetooth Low Energy while being fitted with integrated rechargeable batteries. Needless to say, the new Magic Trackpad is also expected to harbor the same features.

Other rumored specs of the next-gen Magic Mouse and Trackpad are the inclusion of Force Touch to both devices. It can be recalled that Apple debuted the technology on the integrated MacBook and MacBook Pro, which launched during the first quarter of 2015.

Trackpads with Force Touch have upgrade input methods that make them more user-friendly than legacy trackpads. The former feels smoother and more secure on the grip as compared to the latter. Users can also enact deeper clicks on Force Touch trackpads by applying more pressure on its surface.

Moving on to the new Apple keyboard, it's "Magic" branding has led some to speculate that it might be designed like the company's wireless trackpad and mouse. However, further details of the keyboard weren't mentioned aside from its name and inclusion of rechargeable batteries.

The Cupertino tech giant could launch the Magic Trackpad 2, Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse 2 alongside the rumored release of the new 21.5-inch Retina iMac with 4K display next week, Mac Rumors reported.

The third beta of OS X 10.11.1 was seeded to developers on Wednesday, Oct. 7. It could also release next week if it runs on Apple's next-gen wireless accessories.

Speaking of Apple accessories, Beats by Dr. Dre has recently announced the brand-new Beats Pill+ wireless Bluetooth speaker.

The Beats Pill+ comes in a basic yet sophisticated design durable enough for users to toss in their bags. The machine features a two-way crossover active stereo system that enhances the sound field resulting in clearer and more dynamic audio playback of music from different genres. The new Apple speaker charges in three hours, which gives it 12 hours of battery life, as per Business Wire.

The Verge was lucky enough to test out the Beats Pill+, and after listening to brief song demos from different musical genres, the reviewers called the machine "the most attractive looking and sounding speaker that Beats has ever made."
