"Street Fighter 5" is stacking up its warriors quickly as the latest trailer revealed the new Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert who will be joining the fray.

According to the official statement from Capcom Unity, the brand new addition is Laura Matsuda who hails from Brazil.

"As the next heir of the famed Matsuda Jiu-Jitsu fighting style, Laura is constantly looking for strong opponents around the world to defeat, in an effort to spread the Matsuda Jiu-Jitsu's name and prestige," the official release stated. "Generally a happy and outgoing spirit, Laura finds she is the most content and most focused in the heat of battle."

The dark-haired fighter prefers a "methodical grapple style" that is quick and nimble, so players will need to adjust to her close fighting style.

Capcom also revealed, "Laura is also the first grappler in the Street Fighter series to ever have a projectile! This really changes up how she approaches her opponent and how opponents can approach her."

Among the moves in her arsenal is her V-Skill "Linear Movement," which allows her to maneuver closer to her opponent's range and deliver a powerful overhead kick. Laura's V-Trigger "Spark Show" gets her into an "electrified state," causing her projectile to go a greater distance and deliver more stun in her attacks.

Laura was actually leaked to the public ahead of her scheduled reveal date, according to a previous report from Latin Post. It was Japanese video game magazine Famitsu that first announced the new Brazilian character, which disappointed "Street Fighter 5" producer Yoshinori Ono.

"I have been stabbed from behind," he said on Twitter. "However, I'm thinking about working hard on NY Comic Con."

With the new character announcements, "Street Fighter 5" is becoming one of the anticipated games of 2016. Fans will be able to try the new installment to the classic fighting game with the release of the beta later this month.

According to an official release from Capcom Unity, the global beta will be launched on Thursday, Oct. 22, and run until Oct. 25. Upon the release of the beta, a couple of well-known characters will already be playable including Ken, Necalli, Vega and R. Mika.

"As we're still reviewing our content delivery system, Rashid will be added in on day two (October 23rd) and Karin added on day three (October 24th)," Capcom explained. "The characters from the previous beta: Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy, Birdie, Nash and M. Bison will not be selectable this time around."

For the first time, "Street Fighter 5" cross-platform play between PlayStation 4 and PC will also be tested during the beta run.
