Christina Aguilera Preparing Two New Albums
Christina Aguilera has announced plans to release two new albums: an English album and a Spanish-language album.
The 34-year-old singer revealed the news of her upcoming projects during her recent visit on the "Today" show, according to Aceshowbiz.com.
"I've been loosely working and sort of accumulating ideas for what my next album will be over the last couple of years," Aguilera said. "I'm excited for my fans to finally be getting something from me -- it's been a while!"
Aguilera released her last English album, "Lotus," in 2012, which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart. That album produced the singles "Your Body" and "Just a Fool." Her last Spanish-language album was "Mi Reflejo" from 2000.
"Taking a love for yoga and breathing ... not looking at it as an exercise, but just feeling more one with the Earth and everyone being connected, it'll definitely have a reflection on the new record," Aguilera said of her upcoming English album.
The singer left her post as judge on the NBC singing competition "The Voice" in 2014 to spend time with her newborn daughter Summer Rain, whom she had with fiancé Matt Rutler, and to work on new music.
Aguilera served as a judge on the first three seasons of the show before taking a break, then returning for Seasons 5 and 8. Her most recent break was in Season 9.
The singer recently announced she will be returning to the show for Season 10. Longtime judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are also serving as judges for the show's tenth season, along with Pharrell Williams, who has been a judge since Season 7. Aguilera will be replacing Gwen Stefani on the judging panel.
There is no exact premiere date set for Season 10 just yet, but the show is scheduled to air in February.
