SPOILER ALERT: This article contains spoilers for 300: Rise of an Empire.

300: Rise of an Empire starts with the heroic tale where Themistokles, a Greek general, battles Xerxes with the intention of unifying Greece as a democratic state. Xerxes, the mortal-turned-god, who led the invasion of Persian forces into Greece in 300. He was joined by Queen Artemesia, the ruthless Persian navy commander. Queen Gorgo of Sparta offered to help Themistokles, but he refused.

Instead, Themistokles put together a small number of free men to have an army and utilized naval tactics to delay the Persians from hitting land. However, his army was no match for the huge size of Persian forces. After reassessing the importance of winning the battle for his people and country, Themistockles pursued the fight with dignity which ultimately led to his noble death.

300: Rise of an Empire had remarkable sensual and fight scenes and was exciting in the sense that it overwhelmed its audience. Even if it is a little illogical, it is entirely unforgettable.
