The laughs keep coming for "The Last Man on Earth," and in the next episode, fans of the show will see just how redemptive the new Phil really is, even if it is by mistake.

Episode 4 is titled "C to the T" and will air on broadcast network Fox next Sunday, Oct. 18 at 9:30 p.m. EDT, according to TV Guide.

Maybe it is just that Phil is classically doomed to keep screwing up things, even if he does have the best intentions at heart. As fans already know, he screwed up once again in the last episode by jumping the gun, literally.

But now that Phil has had time to think about his missteps, he will find some redemption. But redemption for Phil is not always intended, and he will achieve it in the most heroic way, even if by mistake.

Vulture reports Phil and Carol both have had a series of mistakes that have led them down the wrong paths. But each time, they have had the best intentions without the cognitive abilities to pull them off the right way.

After hearing news Phil is dead, the old group seemed less than enthused to mourn for him. But the new Phil is still ready to rekindle his relationship with Carol, even if that means cheating on his current flame.

Suffice it to say, the wake for Gordon was more endearing than the news of old Phil's passing. That of course leads him to a mourning and self-doubt session in the trailer. But his plan to win them over is permanently flawed when he takes them all by gun point and tries to force their forgiveness, which they had already decided to do.

But he gets locked up by new Phil once again, and when he comes out of exile in the next episode, he finds his redemption by mistake.
