Rihanna has been rumored to be dating rapper and producer Travis Scott, but recent reports suggest that the Barbadian pop singer is stepping on the breaks, especially when there are a lot of things similar between Scott and ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

According to Hollywood Life, a source claimed that Rihanna is hoping not to fall in love too quickly with Scott after their photos spread during their Paris outing.

"Rihanna is trying not to let herself fall for Travis. She's afraid to ever let herself be vulnerable again the way she was with Chris Brown, and she sees a lot of Chris in Travis. They are both cocky, alpha, and have tons of swagger, especially with the ladies," the insider said.

The source added that despite of Rihanna's strong personality, she let it all go when he was with Brown. Now, she is trying not to repeat the past.

"Rihanna likes to think of herself as this badass bitch, who no man can tame, but all that came apart when she was with Chris. She was crying all the time, letting him cheat on her and then taking him back, calling him and texting him obsessively," the source added.

Meanwhile, Rihanna spoke about Brown in her latest Vanity Fair cover story. Their relationship ended with Brown being arrested for assaulting her in 2009.

When asked about being seen as a poster for victims of domestic abuse, Rihanna revealed, "Well, I just never understood that, like how the victim gets punished over and over."

"Nobody wants to even remember it. Nobody even wants to admit it. So to talk about it and say it once, much less 200 times, is like ... I have to be punished for it? It didn't sit well with me," she added.

Rihanna also shared how it was a tough time for her with Brown. She described herself as "That girl who felt that as much pain as this relationship is." She continued, "Maybe some people are just stronger than others. Maybe I'm one of those people built to handle [expletive] like this."

She also felt like being the enemy in the relationship. "I was very protective of him. I felt that people didn't understand him."

"But you know, you realize after a while that in that situation you're the enemy. You want the best for them, but if you remind them of their failures...they think less of you- because they know you don't deserve what they're going to give," she revealed.

There are still no official statements from Rihanna to confirm or deny the dating rumors with Scott.
