"Bridget Jones' Baby" is arriving next year! Renee Zellweger, the star of the popular movie franchise playing the titular role, was seen filming for the upcoming installment.

A report from Celebuzz noted that Zellwegger "was seen dragging a Christmas tree and showing off her baby bump" for the filming of "Bridget Jones' Baby" in London on Tuesday. Moreover, the report revealed that the film's official release date is set for Sept. 16, 2016.

Sharon Maguire who directed "Bridget Jones's Diary" is back to helm the upcoming movie. As for other cast members, Colin Firth who played as Bridget's beau, Mark Darcy, in the previous installments will return for "Bridget Jones' Baby."

Furthermore, Mirror reported that James Callis and Sally Phillips, who played Bridget's friends Tom and Shazzer, will also be making their returns. Meanwhile, Hugh Grant fans should not expect the actor to be part of the third installment.

However, the charming McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy, Patrick Dempsey, is joining the cast. Two weeks ago, via Instagram, Dempsey posted a photo of himself in the United Kingdom prepping for filming, and it came with a caption that read, "Nice to be working in England. Renee and Colin are an absolute joy to work with!"

"A good couple of days rehearsing at Pinewood Studios," the American actor and race car driver added. "I really like it here!" Check out his Instagram post. However, no specific details have been revealed yet regarding the character of Dempsey in the movie.

The upcoming movie offering follows "Bridget Jones's Diary" released in 2001 and "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" released in 2004. The movie franchise is based on the novels written by Helen Fielding, Entertainment Weekly noted.

"Bridget Jones's Diary," distributed by Miramax and with a production budget of $25 million was able to earn $71,543,427 in the U.S. and $210, 386,368 worldwide. According to Box Office Mojo In total, the 2001 movie garnered $281,929,795.

On the other hand, the 2004 Bridget Jones offering was able to gross more than $40 million in domestic ticket sales and $222 million in foreign box office. "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" was distributed by Universal and produced with $40 million budget, a separate earnings report from Box Office Mojo revealed.

There was no official plot details released for the film yet but according to the storyline posted on IMDb, the 2016 film will be about the "The continuing adventures of British publishing executive Bridget Jones as she enters her 40s."
