Lamar Odom Dead Rumors: NBA Star Suffered Multiple Strokes, Possible Brain Damage
Lamar Odom has suffered multiple strokes since being found unresponsive at a Las Vegas brothel, which could have resulted in brain damage for the former NBA star.
According to TMZ, an MRI performed on the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award winner and two-time champion confirmed he suffered a stroke, which has led to kidney failure that now also has Odom on dialysis for up to five hours a day.
The 35-year-old Odom is rumored to be "fighting for his life," after being rushed to a hospital emergency room upon being found unconscious and unresponsive at the Love Ranch South brothel. He was found in his suite by staffers at the facility early Tuesday evening, reportedly after an extended period of taking an herbal Viagra stimulant.
When paramedics arrived, Odom reportedly had "liquid coming out of his nose and mouth," and he now requires the aid of a respirator to breathe.
"He said he was just trying to get away from people so he could have some time to himself without the pressures of being who he is," Love Ranch South owner Dennis Hof told reporters, adding that he was uncertain if Odom had been using any other drugs during his stay at the establishment.
Odom has a history of substance abuse problems, and earlier this year, two of his closest friends died of drug-related causes.
Ex-wife Khloé Kardashian is rumored to have stayed at the hospital since Odom was brought in, and at times, she has been joined by mom Kris Jenner and older sister Kim Kardashian. Rob Kardashian and Scott Disick are rumored to be on their way to Las Vegas.
Odom and his ex were married for four years before she filed for divorce in late 2013 amid widespread rumors of his rampant drug use and persistent infidelity. More recently, Kardashian has been romantically linked to current NBA star James Harden.
