Popular reality modeling competition "America's Next Top Model," which gave fans a look into the world of fashion and modeling, has officially been canceled after a 12 year run.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, after 22 seasons, the modeling reality show which was created by supermodel Tyra Banks and spawned several versions around the world, has been canceled.

Currently in Season 22, the series has made several changes throughout the year's. Originally on UPN, the show made its moved to the CW network in 2006 and what started out as an all female competition, became an all gender inclusive show in Season 20. While ratings remained steady, it hasn't had the success of previous years.

"America's Next Top Model was a successful franchise for two networks, first at UPN and then The CW, and it became not just a ratings hit, but a global pop culture phenomenon," said CW president Mark Pedowitz. "I want to thank Tyra and Ken for all their years of success in establishing a show that was not just popular in the U.S., but all across the world."

On Oct. 14, Banks took to Twitter to hint at the show's cancellation but didn't go into much detail.

"TYRA MAIL! Thinking #ANTM22 should be our last cycle. I truly believe its time. May your pics be forever fierce. Keep on Smizing! Love Tyra," the show's host tweeted.

In a long message to her followers on Instagram, Banks thanked fans for their support throughout the years and explained the impact the show had on pop culture.

Wow, I am SO proud of what Top Model has done. #ANTM brought the intimidating modeling world to the masses. We were the first reality show based in the fashion world. I never thought my little idea would have people everywhere thinking differently about how they take photos. And I never thought we'd do 22 cycles. Whoa! So many!!! And what rhymes with 22? You. And you and you and you and you! YOU made Top Model what it is. We are a global force that has so many international versions around the world because of YOU! That's amazing and beyond anything that I ever dreamed," the star captioned an image with the number 22.

Fans can catch the series finale of "America's Next Top Model" on Friday, Dec. 4, on The CW.
