Former L.A. Lakers star Lamar Odom who was recently found unconscious at a brothel in Las Vegas Tuesday night had been battling for his life and recent reports claim that the athlete had some slight progress with regard to his health condition.

A source told ET Online that "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star Kim Kardashian, Odom's sister-in-law, with his estranged wife Khloe Kardashian believe that the 35-year-old former basketball player squeezed her hand at one point.

Although there are still no official statements coming from Kim, it is, however, speculated to be true since Odom also previously showed another sign of progress while being in a medically induced coma. Odom briefly fluttered his eyes according to ET's source.

The former NBA star with his 14-year basketball career is believed to have been down under with his life as he is speculated to have had every possible drug in his body's system when two female companions found him at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada NY Daily News reports.

Not only that, Odom also reportedly spent $75,000 at the brothel while he stayed at a VIP suite from Saturday until Monday. The report says that Odom asked his two companions to leave him alone that Monday, but when the two women returned, they immediately called 911 after finding Odom unconscious.

NY Daily News speculates that Odom had ingested a huge amount of drugs while drinking cognac and even used cocaine. And as Odom continue to fight for his life with Khloe by his side as well as Odom's father Joe Odom, prayers are requested by his family. Khloe and Joe are currently deciding on what to do with the basketball player's health condition

"They are devastated. They have tried so hard to help Lamar with his issues and it breaks their hearts that he could lose this battle," a source told ET on Wednesday. "The entire family is pulling for Lamar to make it through this."

Meanwhile, one family friend of Odom recently spoke up about what happened to Odom's life and how he ended up in a hospital. Guillermo Castillo, the father of Odom's dear friend Jamie Sangouthai, who recently died, believe that it was because of Sangouthai that Odom decided to die.

"I think Lamar is done. I think most of it is because he missed my son so much. I think deep inside they had a death wish, or a wish to die together. It sounds very cold-blooded, but I have a hard time controlling my emotions," Guillermo said as quoted by the NY Daily News.  

"They were so close. They wouldn't even go to the bathroom without asking the other. They couldn't live without each other," he added. "They went through a lot together - very powerful and beautiful times together."
