Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has denied that he will leave the NFL to pursue the coaching job at the University of Southern California (USC). "No. No. No. No. No. Just keep asking questions like this in press conferences, and it'll be over quicker," Kelly told reported, as quoted by Philly Voice.

The USC Trojans recently fired head coach Steve Sarkisian while he was on an indefinite leave of absence, per ESPN. Sarkisian is having problems in his personal life as he was going through a divorce and has become an alcoholic to the point of showing up to practices and games under the influence.

Bleacher Report noted that not only USC, but Maryland and South Carolina also have openings in the head coaching department. Kelly coached the Oregon Ducks from 2009 to 2012 before joining the Eagles in 2013.

Sports Illustrated reported last week that the 51-year-old coach was a strong candidate for the USC coaching job before they hired Sarkisian. In a separate report by Philly Voice, the former Oregon football coach is one of the two leading candidates for the USC vacancy along with Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin.

The report noted that Kelly would be a good fit for the Trojans as they have first-hand experience in watching him build Oregon's football program and dominate the Pac-12. He was also asked by the media if the rumors of him leaving will cause tension in the Eagles' locker room.

"Our players couldn't care less about it. Ask them, I guess. I don't think Jason Kelce is really concerned because my name came up with a college. I think he's concerned with going up against Steve Spagnuolo's defense, which is what's first and foremost on our team right now," Kelly said via Philly Voice.

The Eagles are currently at 2-3 after five games in the wide open NFC East. According to ex-Baltimore Ravens coach Brian Billick, the Eagles players are unhappy with Kelly's unorthodox ways like making players drink protein shakes daily, requiring a sleeping habit chart for each player and his chaotic pace during practices, per CBS Sports.

Former Eagles star running back LeSean McCoy, whom Kelly traded to the Bills, also had some issues with his former coach. He told ESPN, "The relationship was never really great. I feel like I always respected him as a coach. I think that's the way he runs his team. He wants the full control."

"You see how fast he got rid of all the good players. Especially all the good black players. He got rid of them the fastest. That's the truth," McCoy added.
