The RPG game backed by Kickstarter, "Darkest Dungeon," has an official release date. The full game will be available early next year.

According to Darkest Dungeon's official site, the release date for the turn-based role-playing game is slated for Jan. 19. The game is currently accessible and playable through its Early Access version.

Next month, 'Darkest Dungeon' fans can look forward to getting a new patch that will bring in a new playable hero. Red Hook Studios revealed that "The Abomination," the hero created together with the Lord tier Kickstarter backers will be part of the game come the interim patch's release.

As described in the post, the new playable hero is a "bloodthirsty class" that is not like anything that the game currently offers. "The Abomination" will officially be revealed weeks from now.

Another update to expect from the upcoming November patch for the Early Access version of "Darkest Dungeon" are "two decidedly unsettling backer-designed monsters." And in addition to constant bug fixes for the game, there will also be "goodies" coming for Redhook Studio's title.

The Early Access for "Darkest Dungeon" currently features tons of content such as 4 dungeon environments, 12 hero classes, a number of monsters, more than a hundred in-game items and a lot more. By introducing the Early Access on February of this year, it allowed the "Darkest Dungeon" team to improve the game even more through player feedback and letting the community be involved in the game's development.

The full version of "Darkest Dungeon" will be available for the PC and Mac on Jan. 19. But according to a report from Eurogamer, the game developer, Red Hook, is also eyeing to create console and mobile platform versions of the game.

As described on the official site, "Darkest Dungeon" is a "challenging gothic roguelike turn-based RPG about the psychological stresses of adventuring." In the game, the player will have to "Recruit, train, and lead a team of flawed heroes against unimaginable horrors, stress, famine, disease, and the ever-encroaching dark."

The game's Early Access version is getting a "Very Positive" rating, based on user reviews, as posted on Steam. One of the users, TreadedWater, said that "Darkest Dungeon" comes with "a dark, brooding atmosphere, an art style that manages to be minimalist, descriptive and disturbing all at once..."

TreadedWater also praised the narrator of the game because of its "action sequences, cutscenes, events and even transitional screens."  Meanwhile, Eurogamer's description noted that it is "charmingly, grotesquely and viciously unique."
