Alejandra Espinoza Named New Revlon Global Ambassador
On Thursday, television personality and model Alejandra Espinoza was announced as the new global ambassador for beauty brand Revlon.
Espinoza, who rose to fame when she was the first to win Univision's beauty pageant "Nuestra Belleza Latina" in 2007, made the announcement about her new role as the face of the Revlon brand on her Instagram account.
"I have some VERY big news that I can finally share with all of you! I'm joining @Revlon as their newest Global Brand Ambassador. There are so many exciting products coming out and I can't wait to share them all with you! #LOVEISON #BienvenidaAlejandra," the actress wrote on Instagram.
Revlon also shared the news on their official Instagram account with a photo montage of the model and television personality.
"We're beyond excited to welcome the gorgeous & talented @alejandraespinoza to the Revlon family! Get to know her in 15 seconds! #BienvenidaAlejandra #LOVEISON," the brand captioned the post.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail, Espinoza expressed her mission to "inspire young girls who think their dreams are impossible" through her success.
"I came from nothing. I am the American Dream," the 28-year-old host of "La Banda" said.
Even though she loves to wear makeup and play with her look, the Mexican beauty also praised platforms like Instagram that give fans a look at their favorite stars without all the photoshop used by magazines and ads.
"You need to embrace yourself -- not the photoshopped version of you. That's not the way I want people to see me," she said. "Today with Instagram, you can actually see the real person with their imperfections. I think that's a much better way to see a celebrity."
Espinoza is not the only Latina to represent the global beauty brand. Actresses Jessica Alba and Eva Mendes have also served as ambassadors for the brand.
