Former Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom continues to be in a hospital after being found unconscious in Las Vegas last week. Recently, sources claim that the former NBA basketball player is now breathing on his own and is showing good signs of improvement with regard to his health condition.

A source told People magazine recently that Odom's estranged wife and "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star Khloe Kardashian "is happy he is off the ventilator and is breathing on his own, but she is still scared and still concerned," a family source told the magazine. "He's woken up and his heart is stronger, but there is still concern about his organs," the insider added.

Good news just keeps on coming apparently since it has also been reported that Odom has been able to talk although a source from PEOPLE said that it might be "minimal."

Not only that, E! News reports that Odom has even left his hospital bed and transferred to a chair with assistance.  

There are, however, more things to consider like Odom's kidney failure and his current dialysis including other tests that would identify the extent of possible brain damage that he incurred.

But it has been emphasized that Odom's current condition is better than his previous four-day coma. "Lamar is slowly making progress. Today has been a good day," a source from E! News said on Sunday. "There's a lot of praying going on."

Meanwhile, as it has been hoped for, "Things are looking brighter," the family source told People. But the former NBA star's ordeal isn't near over. "His organs still aren't that strong, they don't know the damage," the family source revealed.

"Lamar still has a way to go," an insider told People. "It's promising, but he is not home-free." 

Meanwhile, a lot of people close to Odom have started to spread the current condition of the basketball star including Odom's sister-in-law, Kim Kardashian West, who previously posted on Twitter, writing, "I believe in the power of prayer!" she wrote alongside a photo of her and Odom. "Thx 4 ur prayers."

However, Odom's estranged wife has been silent all throughout his hospitalization in Los Angeles, but People's source claimed that Kardashian "won't leave his side" and "she wants to be there so that whenever he opens his eyes, he sees her."
