Fantasy Football 2015 Rankings, Sleepers & Week 7 Waiver Wire: Top 5 NFL Players to Pick Up This Week
The waiver wire is absolutely critical for Fantasy Football owners everywhere. Staying on top of free agency can make or break your team every week. Disappointing play and injuries often lead to Fantasy Football owners checking their waiver wire to help aid their roster week in and week out.
Here are five players you should consider singing off the waiver wire this week.
1. Ronnie Hillman
The Denver Broncos offense has been by far the biggest surprise of this season. Peyton Manning isn't looking like himself, and C.J. Anderson has been a bust so far. It may be time to turn to Ronnie Hillman for relief. Hillman leads the Broncos in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and yards per carry. Hillman has eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark in two of the last three weeks. Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders has a shoulder injury, and the Broncos passing game isn't looking great. The Broncos will try and establish more of a running game going forward.
2. Brandon LaFell
It's a risk, but it could pay off. If you drafted Brandon LaFell this year, he hasn't scored any points for you. That's because he hasn't played yet. LaFell has been on the (PUP) Physically Unable to Perform list, and he is eligible to play next week against the New York Jets. LaFell played great last season with 953 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, which are both career highs. While many may think Bill Belichick could rest LaFell another week, Julian Edelman's finger injury could be the X factor here. Edelman hurt his finger against the Indianapolis Colts, and Tom Brady needs reliable targets to throw to.
3. Ben Watson
Ben Watson is really finding his groove this season with the New Orleans Saints. He already has more receiving yards through six games then had in each of the last two years. Watson had 127 receiving yards last week against the Atlanta Falcons, and he has caught a touchdown pass the last two consecutive weeks. Watson and the Saints face the Colts secondary next week. Watson won't change things drastically for you, but as long as Drew Brees is his quarterback, Watson will always have a good chance at succeeding.
4. James Starks
Outside of DeMarco Murray, Eddie Lacy may just be the most disappointing Fantasy Football running back this season. Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are playing great at 6-0, but Lacy hasn't hit the 100-yard rushing mark even once this season. James Starks actually leads the Packers in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. In Week 6 against the San Diego Chargers, Starks had 112 rushing yards on just 12 carries. Starks also had a receiving touchdown in that game. It won't be easy next game against the Denver Broncos, but Lacy just isn't producing enough.
5. Marvin Jones
Marvin Jones definitely had the "play of the week" in Week 7 with his stretch touchdown against the Buffalo Bills. Jones missed all of last season with injuries, but he's looking good so far for the Cincinnati Bengals, who are a perfect 6-0. A.J. Green gets most of the defensive attention, as he should, so Jones will always have a good chance at getting open to a certain degree. Jones actually has as many touchdown grabs as Green does this season, and he's playing far better than Mohamed Sanu is so far.
