Could the "Zen Master" be running to the hard court? That's the word around the NBA at least. Over the past several days its been speculated that the 11 time NBA Champion coach Phil Jackson could be returning to the NBA to take charge of the listless New York Knicks front office.

The former Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers head coach had been out of the league since his most recent stint with the Lakers ended in 2011. The New York Knicks lone bright spot Carmelo Anthony reiterated the speculation to reporters recently.

''Everything's in his hands now,'' Anthony said during practice at Boston's TD Garden.

Anthony wasn't done talking about the legendary Jackson.

''I still don't have a lot of the details, all the details,'' Anthony told reporters. ''Have I heard? Yeah, I've heard that he will be coming on board. It's not official yet. You can always use Phil Jackson's insight on whatever ... his philosophy, his mindset, his resume, what he brings to the game, what he brings to a team or organization. That goes without even saying, so we'll see how that plays out.''

Anthony is fully aware of what Phil can bring to Madison Square Garden.

''You can't take for granted what he knows about the game of basketball, whether he's on the sideline or in the front office,'' Anthony told reporters. ''I'm sure he will try to his best to do what he has to do to try to build a championship team. He knows how to put guys together, put a team together. We'll see what happens.''

''It wasn't something that was do-or-die based on my decision,'' Anthony told reporters. ''Them guys was going to make that decision regardless of what I said.''

New NBA Commissioner Adam Silver also hopes that the best coach in NBA history returns to the league in any capacity.

''I'm agnostic as to what team, but I would love to see Phil Jackson'' back in the league, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said on Wednesday.

''To have one of the greatest ever sitting on the sidelines is a loss for the league,'' Silver went on to say. ''The league needs him. I hope he lands with some organization.''

Still Jackson himself realizes that a return won't be easy.

''The game doesn't pass a person by,'' Jackson said during an HBO interview.
