If you think that life is hard now, The Following star Kevin Bacon would like to talk to you about the 1980s.

The 55-year-old actor and musician, who was the staple of many a cheesy '80s flick, feels that kids today are spoiled (and he's not the only one). The video, which has already gone viral thanks to Mashable, shows Bacon explaining how you couldn't ride your skateboard to the nearest Blockbuster video without the fear of getting nuked by Russia.

"You think Russia is a threat now?" he says. "Let me tell you about a little thing called the Cold War. They had nukes pointed at us for 20 years. You couldn't even skateboard to Blockbuster without getting nuked."

Bacon also pokes fun at today's obsession with apps. "You want to know my favorite app? Rubik's Cube," he says.

Needless to say, the comments on YouTube are hilarious -- especially from the millenials. "Took your advice, Googled 'white pages,' don't understand why using whitepages.com was so hard in the 80s," writes Unqualified Gamers. (Because the Internet didn't go mainstream until the 1990s, you moron.)

One comment riffs nostalgic, too. Nick M. wrote, "I miss when music used instruments, when there were guitar solos. A band wasn't 1 or 2 people it was 4 or 5 unless you're Rush you can get by with 3. The music needs to be brought back!!!! Ratt, Van Halen, Guns N' Roses, Motley Crüe, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Beatles, the list goes on and on, but who is to say that music can't be for today?"

And Icarus Rex sums up the 1980s in his comment: "In remembrance of all those who were nuked, I'm going to skateboard to my local blockbuster and rent Red Dawn. During this entire period I will be playing Jessie's Girl in my Walkman."
