Kim Richards insists her substance abuse struggles are behind her, and she is now in a "good place," as she strives to maintain her sobriety.

According to People Magazine, the former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star recently appeared on an episode of former cast member Brandi Glanville's podcast, where she said, "Everything is good. It's a good time for me right now."

During the podcast, the 51-year-old Richards also revealed she's come to understand her overwhelming need to live in the present and not dwell on the past.

"Living in the present for me is just the best way and it's the only way for me today," she said. "Realizing today is beautiful and I'm super grateful for right now and all who's in it."

Richards also hinted her exit from the Bravo themed reality show may have been a blessing in disguise.

"It's good. It's better now," she said of her life overall. "It was a rough time for a bit there but it's just putting everything back in order and just really focusing on my family and me."

Richards was dumped from the cast after a string of public meltdowns, which included her arrest for shoplifting from a California Target store and her public tirade against her daughter on her wedding day.

But all that now seems like water under the bridge for Richards, particularly her family struggles, which also included a running feud with sister Kyle.

"She's doing really well -- she's doing really well right now," Kyle recently told People while attending the Global Lyme Alliance inaugural gala earlier this month.

During the height of her struggles, Kim also spent time in several rehab facilities, and at one point was even being held under a psychiatric 5150 hold.
