Sony Xperia Z5 is getting a software update. Latest reports noted that the upcoming update will fix touchscreen issues experienced by some Xperia Z5 Compact users.

Rickard, the Community Manager for Sony Mobile page posted the company's official statement regarding the issue found on the smartphone. According to the post, the company is aware that there are a limited number of users who are currently experiencing touch input issues on their white Sony Xperia Z5 Compact smartphones.

After analyzing the returned units, Sony have discovered the cause of the problem and promised to release a new software to solve the issue. The post also specified that the other color variants of Sony Xperia Z5 have not been affected by the touchscreen dilemma.

As for the release schedule of Sony Xperia Z5 Compact software update, the post noted that it will roll out starting week 44. And As Xperia Blog specified, it will be available starting Monday, Oct. 26 .

The software update for the Zony Xperia Z5 will be available via the support software called PC Companion for Windows OS users. Meanwhile, Mac users can access the update through the Bridge program.

Furthermore, it will also roll out through various retail partners. However, Sony Xperia Z5 Compact users should note that the schedule will differ by region or operator.

Released on September 30, 2015, the Sony Xperia Z5 compact boasts powerful specs such as a 23MP primary camera. The front-facing camera, on the other hand, is equipped with a 5.1MP sensor.

Camera features include Digital zoom, Digital image stabilization, Geotagging, Autofocus, smile detection and more. The camcorder can take an impressive 4k resolution videos.

The official specs posted on Phone Arena also noted that this Android smartphone features a 4.6-inch LCD IPS display. The screen resolution is 720p by 1280p.

Moreover, with IP68 certification, the Sony Xeria Z5 Compact is dust and water resistant. As for the memory, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset paired with 2 GB of RAM.

It has an octa-core processor clocked at 2000 MHZ, ARM Cortex-A57 and ARM Cortex-A53. The phone's graphics processor, on the other hand, is Adreno 430.

It also comes with a 32GB internal storage and can be expanded through storage cards. The 2700mah battery can offer a standby time of 21.7 days or a talk time that can last for 13 hours on the average.

The Sony Xperia Z5 also sports a fingerprint scanner, built in the side positioned lock screen, the description on the Phone Arena noted.
