Andi Dorfman, who gained fame for walking out on Juan Pablo Galavis on the latest season of The Bachelor, has been chosen to be the next Bachelorette. According to rumors, however, that role was almost given to Clare Crawley, who was runner-up in winning Galavis' final rose.

Hollywood Life reports that Crawley was a contender to be the star of season 10 of The Bachelorette.

"Producers were toying with the idea of choosing Clare to be the next Bachelorette," an "insider" told the website. "She is certainly a fan favorite after all the drama that went down with her and Juan Pablo."

Crawley reportedly lost the job, however, because she got a little too close with Galavis, especially one night when she went to his cabana and slept with him.

"... the higher-ups felt like they couldn't pick Clare because they would upset and even lose certain viewers who looked down upon her for having sex with Juan Pablo," the source claimed.

The source also alleged that Dorfman's close relationship with Nikki Ferrell, who won the season, helped her get the coveted role.

"They felt Andi would be a safer choice even though she's not a fan favorite.," the Hollywood Life source continued. "She's also Nikki's new best friend. In the end, it's all about ratings anyway."

The rumor, however, is questionable.

"...[the site] calls bullsh*t on this story because A) Clare is boring and no one really wants to watch her, period, and B) they rarely pick the runner-up because filming for the new season happens too soon after the other ends," The Frisky points out.

At least the friendship between Dorfman and Ferrell seems to be true. Ferrell has even insisted on Dorfman being in a very important event in her life.

"Andi and I will always be close, and she's entitled to her opinion about Juan Pablo. Those two were not meant to be, but I think it will eventually be a great friendship," Ferrell told People via Reality TV World. "...Andi will be at my wedding."

"Then you'll marry another guy," Galavis added laughing.
