Utah Jazz player Gordon Hayward acquires a New Mexico estate.

Hayward, the 25-year-old NBA forward, buys a Rancho Santa Fe property for $3.35 million, Los Angeles Times reported. The Butler University alumnus actually purchased it for a lower amount than what it was initially listed in May, which was almost $3.6 million, the site noted. Yet, even though he shelled over three million dollars for his new residence, it is still just a pinch of his four-year, $63-million contract he signed last year, per an ESPN report.

The athlete was represented by Rande Turner of Ranch and Coast Real Estate while Laura Barry of Barry Estates served as the listing agent for the seller, the Times informed, citing data from the Multiple Listing Service.

Thus, the young Indianapolis-born basketball player now owns a sprawling estate just near the Jazz's territory. Hayward's dwelling place is resting over more than two acres of New Mexico lot.

The 7,550-square-foot abode displays six bedrooms and eight bathrooms and is big enough to host some of the Utah team members to join him in training sometime in the offseason. Other living spaces in the expansive Spanish-inspired home include a foyer, formal living room, dining room, den that may dual as a residential office, kitchen that comes with a center island for easy cooking as well as a four-car garage.

Apart from the main house, there is a pool house that may also be transformed to a guest house. A staff quarters is also available for personal or house employees.

The extensive grounds also showcase wonderful amenities for recreation like a swimming pool equipped with a spa and a lighted tennis court. There is also a living room, patio and kitchen outdoors to entertain guests while having a swimming party.

Staying in Utah

Hayward, who was drafted in 2010 by the Jazz, has not played for any other team since entering the NBA. He almost became a member off the Charlotte Hornets last year when they offered him a four-year $63 million deal to play for them. However, the Jazz matched the offer for the restricted agent and Hayward chose to stay with Utah, ESPN noted.

Hayward's agent Mark Bartelstein shared why his client chose to stay with the Jazz.

"It's always a wonderful thing when your own organization values you so much that they'd match a contract like this. I think it makes a great statement to Gordon about how they feel about him and value him," the agent said.

Hayward averaged 19.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.1 steals per game last season, per ESPN stats.
