Xiaomi is yet to launch its Xiaomi Mi5 flagship phone, but rumors about its specs have already been circulating online.

According to a report from Phone Arena, whether the leaked specs are true or not, the Force Touch, which is currently present in next-generation iPhones, is a possible addition to Xiaomi Mi5's specs. Qualcomm's Sense ID ultrasonic fingerprint sensing technology is reportedly the new feature in the Xiaomi Mi5. It is said to be one of the flagship phone's highlights once it is launched.

Through Force Touch, users will be able to choose certain actions or tasks depending on the type of touch the device senses. Normally, the types of touch include light, regular and heavy. However, the rumored addition and its configuration on the Xiaomi Mi5 remains to be seen until Xiaomi's official launch.

According to iDigitalTimes, the latest on the rumored specs of the Xiaomi Mi5 include a 5.3-inch QHD display, 4GB of RAM and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820. The possibility of it being equipped with the deca-core MediaTekHelio X20 chip has also not been written off. It is also reported to have a 16-megapixel primary camera with an Optical Image Stabilization feature.

Although there has been no confirmation on the actual date of its launch, the Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to be introduced in January next year.

If rumors about Xiaomi utilizing Force Touch technology turns out to be true, the Chinese mobile maker will be the newest addition to the roster of tech companies that has integrated Force Touch into their flagship phones such as Apple and Huawei. Samsung, on the other hand, is not to be left behind as it is also expected to include the said feature on the Samsung Galaxy S7.

Additional specs of the Xiaomi Mi5, per iDigitalTimes, include a 3,500 mAH battery, 2.5D glasses as well as Android 5.1 Lollipop. There is no confirmation yet from Xiaomi regarding the specs and price. However, the Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to have a price range of $371 to $385. The rumored Xiaomi Mi5 plus, on the other hand, may cost a bit more at around $425.

Chinese website Mobile-dad posted a photo of the alleged Xiaomi Mi5, but everything else is yet to be revealed, so consumers may take this as an overview of what to expect.
