Mortal Kombat X News: DLC Characters Could Include Klassic Fighters and External Characters
Mortal Kombat X will be getting some new playable characters through downloadable content (DLC). These characters could be fighters from earlier Mortal Kombat games or they could be external characters from movies or comic books.
A second season pass of DLC has already been confirmed by Mortal Kombat's creator Ed Boon, MNR Daily reports. The season pass will be called Kombat Pack 2 and it will include at least four new characters, character skins and an additional fighting arena.
The first Kombat Pack included two characters from movies (Jason Voorhees and Predator) and two Klassic Mortal Kombat fighters (Tanya and Tremor). The next Kombat Pack will likely include at least two Klassic fighters from previous Mortal Kombat games.
According to PlayStation Universe, the popular Mortal Kombat fighter Smoke is a very possible inclusion for Kombat Pack 2. Smoke last appeared in Mortal Kombat 9 and also has a brief appearance in Mortal Kombat X.
Mortal Kombat X added two external characters in the last Kombat Pack and at least one more is likely for Kombat Pack 2. Spawn from the "Spawn" series of comic books could make an appearance as a playable character in Mortal Kombat X. The game already has the permission from "Spawn's" creator Todd McFarlane to use the character in Mortal Kombat X. McFarlane did say that Mortal Kombat X would have to decide soon though.
Baraka is a logical choice for a DLC character in Mortal Kombat X. Baraka has been in the Mortal Kombat series since Mortal Kombat II and he already appears in Mortal Kombat X as an opponent. Baraka has his own set of moves, programming and even voiceovers. It would be easy to transition him into a playable character.
The Kombat Pack 2 season pass will come out sometime in 2016 and will cost $29.99. The season pass will include all of the new DLC characters, character skins and any other additional content added. Mortal Kombat X players can also purchase the extra characters separately for a one-time fee.
