Adam Sandler Film ‘The Ridiculous 6’ Releases Trailer [Watch]
Netflix is at it again with another film original to add to its list: Adam Sandler's "The Ridiculous 6." Now that the film is about to debut on the streaming platform this winter, the producers have officially released its first trailer for the comedy western movie.
According to the IMDb, the film is a comedy that features an all-star cast of Hollywood's biggest names. Those names include Sandler, Luke Wilson, Will Forte, Taylor Lautner, Terry Crews, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, Steve Zahn, David Spade, John Turturro, Danny Trejo, Norm MacDonald and Nick Nolte.
The film is about a man named Tommy, aka White Knife (Sandler), who was raised by Native Americans and soon learns that he has five half-brothers who were all fathered by the same deadbeat man.
He embarks on a journey to find his half-brothers and then later, they will all go out to find their father. But of course the comedy comes in leaps and bounds on their journey as they get caught up in several predicaments that can only be inherent to the Wild West.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film itself does not come without its own mess of scandal. Earlier this year, the production of the film made headlines when it was claimed several Native American actors walked off the set in protest to the content in the film itself.
The production called for scenes that featured characters named in offensive ways to Native Americans, such as "Beaver Breath," "Sits-On-Face" and "Strawberry Tits."
The production crew also decided to use skin-coloring techniques to darken some of their faces to look more like they were "native." Such was the case with actress Alison Young, who said she was a full-blooded Navajo, but they decided to bronze her anyway.
You can watch the trailer for the film below, which has suspiciously left out any references to the controversial issues mentioned above. The film debuts on Netflix on Dec. 11.
