‘Madam Secretary’ Spoilers Season 2 Episode 5: The Russian Crisis Thickens With a Possible Power Grab [Watch]
A potential power grab in the Russian government will drive the next episode of "Madam Secretary" into a potential crisis.
Episode 5, titled "The Long Shot," will air on broadcast network CBS this Sunday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. EST, according to TV Guide.
With the scandal involving Stevie and her photos seemingly behind them, Elizabeth must now maneuver her way back into President Conrad's inner circle to help avoid a potential crisis with diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Russia. That could also include China if the last episode was any indicator.
According to Spoilers Guide, there is expected to be a rumored power grab within the Russian government now that President Ostrov has died. This could of course have devastating consequences on the already shaky relations between the two countries should the Russians become more unstable in the process.
There is reason to believe that the Russians are now working with the Chinese against the better interest of the U.S., but there is also reason to believe that the Chinese are not entirely innocent.
As Elizabeth and Dalton try to play out this foreign political turmoil, Oliver Shaw, the government's Cybersecurity Coordinator, tries to find a link to the hacker that got into Air Force One and shut them down. This could of course leave China as a primary suspect and if it does prove true, then Russia and China's partnership could be an end all situation as far as the U.S. is concerned.
Fans will also get to see Jay back in action in this episode. Although Russia's propaganda machine is out in full force, there is always a way to counter it. At its core, it's all about politics. So Jay carefully devises a plan to counter their propaganda machine by taking his own offensive and defensive measures.
Take a look at the preview below for the next episode.
